JAKARTA -- Indonesia on Sunday confirmed 2,925 new COVID-19 cases, raising the country's tally of infections to 4,286,378, according to the country's Health Ministry.

The ministry said that in the past 24 hours, the death toll from COVID-19 in Indonesia rose by 14 to 144,220, while 712 more people recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,123,267. (Indonesia-COVID-Cases)

MOSCOW -- Russia reported 63,205 COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, the highest daily count since the pandemic hit the country, taking the national tally to 11,108,191, the official monitoring and response center said Sunday.

The nationwide death toll grew by 679 to 326,112, while the number of recoveries increased by 23,045 to 10,023,622, according to the center. (Russia-COVID-19)

YAOUNDE -- A fire in a nightclub in Cameroon's capital city of Yaounde has killed at least 16 people, the country's Minister of Communication Rene Emmanuel Sadi said on Sunday.

Sadi said the tragedy occurred on Sunday at about 2:30 a.m. local time at Liv's Night Club Yaouba. (Cameroon-Fire)

BEIRUT -- Visiting Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nasser al-Mohammad al-Sabah said here on Sunday that his country has made suggestions to Lebanese President Michel Aoun on how Lebanon might rebuild confidence with the Gulf states.

"All of these suggestions are derived from international legitimacy resolutions and resolutions of the League of Arab States," al-Sabah told a press conference after a meeting with Aoun on the second day of his two-day visit to Lebanon. (Kuwait-Lebanon)
