Riyadh, SANA-Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, welcomed the United States decision to lift sanctions imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic, as announced earlier this evening by U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to the official website of the GCC Secretariat, Albudaiwi expressed hope that this decision will help alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people and pave the way for building a secure and prosperous future for Syria.
Albudaiwi also praised the significant and valuable efforts of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, whose role contributed to pushing forward this important decision.
